The current status of my application was "Application/Profile updated" and nothing changed. I believed this was a ghost update and will get ppr soon. AOR Dec. 6th, 2018

I just called IRCC via the 613 number and there was a message that said "obscene language will not be tolerated" as well as saying they are switching to voicemail only as of Sep 16, 2019, where you will be required to leave a voicemail with a representative contacting you back within 1 business day.

It sounds like they're drowning in calls with not enough reps, and it sounds like some people are being abusive toward the reps. How terrible.

I think it is likely the application is approved, status should change to approved and mailed once they sent it out in 2-3 days.

Quite right. The IRCC folks told me that the reason it showed a ghost update (my words, not theirs of course) is that it was basically approved after the technical review and that they sent it to production to actually produce the cards. At that point it will be approved/mailed.

Why can't they just add these statuses instead of ghost updates (to both PR and PR card applications)??

Anyway, good to know.

Global affairs canada is going into automated system whereas ircc is available on direct line +1 888-242-2100 as usual - but this number goes into usa call in hangout - have to use third party apps like textme in playstore to call canada

Gotcha. The message I received was on the 613 global affairs number before it transfers to IRCC. I don't believe I've ever spoken to GA directly.
