Hello, I'm a new member here a Filipino Nationality currently working in Oman. I submitted my work permit application thru paper based here in VFS - Muscat and forwarded it thru Canada Embassy in Abu Dhabi last 3rd of February 2019. My question is how long does it takes to process the work permit submitted outside Abu Dhabi? Because 5 months now to be exact I haven't receive any updates from them, though many times I submitted a web form inquiries but unfortunately no replies from the CE in Abu Dhabi, below is my timeline:
NOC: 4212 (closed work permit)
3rd February 2019 - Submitted in person thru VFS Muscat with Biometrics
4th February 2019 - Acknowledgement of Receipt thru sms\
March - no update
25th April 2019 - Medical Request received thru email from embassy
5th May 2019 - Medical start at Hatat Polyclinic in Muscat
10th May 2019 - Medical result uploaded by the clinic
June - no update
July - no update
I hope somebody can able to see my post so that we can able to help each other on what to do or what to expect.
The processing time for this office is currently 19 weeks, which would put a decision at June 17th or so (by my rough count). So there is some kind of delay for sure. Many offices ignore case specific inquiries until your application is past the processing time. They may have ignored your inquiries previously because of the timing. Have you sent one after June 17th?

Yes, I did. I sent an inquiry last June and this 6th of July I sent also another one but unfortunately no replies from the embassy. I've been trying to link my paper application also thru online in MyCIC "but no files found", I even sent a web form also in technical difficulties but it doesn't help. I don't know what to do now, all I have to do is to wait perhaps!
Well there's very little chance you'd get a reply to your request of the 6th already. I don't know how many requests they get per day but it's probably a lot and takes them a long time to sort through them. It's been less than one full business day since your last request.

Waiting is a difficult task which involves a lot of patience and reject those negative thoughts! but I can't help to think negative sometimes I just hope and pray that after a long waiting the answer will be positive....in God's time!
Yes, yesterday at exactly 4:30 in the afternoon Muscat time, I received my passport request letter from IRCC Abu dhabi. By Sunday I will bring my passport in VFS Muscat. My application has been approved! Glory to God

Yes of course I will share it to you my timeline, though it was already written above but I will give you my updated timeline;
3rd of February - paper based application together with biometrics submitted to VFS Muscat
25th April - Medical Request received thru email
5th May - Medical held at Hatat Polyclinic Muscat
10th May - eMedical was uploaded
June - no updates
25th July - Biometrics Validation Letter received thru email
28th July - application has been finalized and decision letter shall be send to email
22nd August - Passport Request Letter received thru email at exactly 4:30 in the afternoon Muscat time
By Sunday I will bring my PPR letter and my PPR to VFS Muscat for visa stamping
Exactly 6 months God heard my prayers. Don't lose hope everything will be in the right time according to His will.
My Noc is 4212 Developmental Service Worker and I will be working to those people with intellectual disabilities, the VO who assigned to my papers never asked about license but I submitted my Master's Degree and all of my credentials too. In your case I don't know if they will be needing your license but if in case they need it, they will ask you to submit an additional documents.
I submitted my passport together with he PPR letter to VFS Muscat this morning according to them I will be receiving my passport after 5-10 working days so I'm expecting to get it back to me by 2nd week of September by then I will book my flight.
