I applied for a study permit online on July 10th, biometrics was updated the following day. They started reviewing my eligibility July 29th and I haven’t received any updates since. School fee payment is due but I would like to know if permit was approved before making payment
You have to pay fee and gic before applying whether its sds or non
It increases the chances
They gonna reject you on the basis of financial stability
I suggest you to Check with a consultant or lawyer

As per the discussions in various threads on this forum, a majority of applicants get the decision (whether a passport request notification or refusal) within a period of 10 days from the start of the eligibility review.

Actually, nobody is meant to pay tuition fees prior to submitting an application. It is after progress have been made on your application that the VO will then ask you to pay tuition fees and vice versa but, many are paying upfront just to speed things up. Even the so-called medicals now are being made upfront but everything is at your own risks because, these things doesn't guarantee that the visa will be approved for many things are considered before such decision is made. I hope that helps.
