Same here and it’s been almost three weeks with no further updates online or by email. I’m hoping for a landing letter but no idea how long it might be.

Hi everyone I got decision made both side. But no letter yet. Is this normal? How long should I wait for the approval letter? Thank you guys.

No. I've been held up due to medicals for my kids, but today, it says "You passed your medical." and " Your background check has started."

It’s been 2 weeks for me with DM and still nothing. It depends how fast is your local office.

No. I've been held up due to medicals for my kids, but today, it says "You passed your medical." and " Your background check has started."

This is excellent news, hopefully the rest follows soon. We are all so close.

Why do they ask for an FBI Police Cert and then do another background check? My FBI cert is clear but someone else said that the other is for them to check CSIS (terrorist check or something like that)..doesn't matter...just curious. At any rate..yayyyy glad we're seeing some movement.

YAY I’m so glad your file is moving!

The BGC seems to include a lot beyond the FBI cert and the agent I asked once implied it had multiple steps or parts (even though those don’t show on GCKEY—you can see them in GCMS notes, tho). The FBI cert covers criminality but the security part of the check involves info-sharing with other countries’ intelligence agencies. I think they also check general background things like you’d get in an employment background check, they verify addresses and education and such.

On my notes, they completed info-sharing in September 2018 and logged the FBI cert then too, but going by GCKEY nothing officially/visibly started on my BGC TIL May 2019...

Yes, same for me. My bgc still shows not started but my notes shows exchange info. with US for criminality and biographical ...whatever it means. There's a lot more than police certificates. Hope to see some movement this week. 31 days left today.
