It is part of application but I think discretionary some visa officer may hold for it

You are taking about general trend but every case is different , incomplete application or additional document request will move the application in back of the pile .

Yes, I agree hence wanted to know why the ecas is not available, as May 1 is now in DM mode.

All calls from IRCC regarding case and deportation are FRAUD.
My friend did receive one and ignored it and the other ended up paying money for no reason.

Please elaborate, why will anyone get a call from IRCC ? All those calls who people receive from IRCC regarding money and their case and deportation are FRAUD. My friend did receive one and ignore it and the other ended up paying money for no reason.

it was not related to money, i heard that someone get call for parent address confirmation. i assumed that CRA and IRCC contacts only by mail and never by phone. Did anybody hear about such practice?

I hope so. It makes me wonder what took them so long to request for additional documents i.e. in July, when application was received on 1st May.
Just goes on to prove, that its a random process or just my bad luck.

what is your status in ECAS ? still application received on May 2nd

It was received on April 30, Ecas is available from May 2nd, I linked it on June 26 and today it was updated to in process both for sponsor and for applicant, and when I click on sponsor part it says that they started to process the application from July 3rd

Don't wait for AOR. You will first see ecas and will be able to then link your application to myCIC account. Based on current processing, your ecas may become available in a week or so.

Got a pdf in mycic just now asking for biometric, the letter says must do it before going to Canada but my parents are on the flight to Canada now, not sure what to do now They only give 30 days from the letter to get it done and flight cost over 2K not to mentioned my parents are not healthy to take so many long flights in short time, I am so upset with IRCC policy on this biometric requirements! Why can't we do it inside Canada!!!
