We are on same page
My file is also transferred from Vancouver to etobicoke local office after SA
How about you?
Did u get AIP or any update after transfer
Im dying with worry.
Your agent was correct. I was here on a visitor extension. I was going to apply for a 2nd visitor extension but we applied for PR under the common law sponsorship and applied for an OWP along with it. I was worried sick that I would be out of status if I didn't apply for another visitor extension but our local MP's office called Immigration for us and got the same info as you did from the agent. We were told if we applied for the OWP, then I would, in fact, on implied status..so it sounds like you are good to go!
I called CIC and they told me that my file was transferred to the London, Ontario office...but of course I was nervous and dummy ME..didn't ask when it was transferred but at least I know it is. Hopefully, we'll have movement soon.

I don't mind answering.
Yes, it is only about an hour away. I asked him why it was transferred, and he said possibly to workshare or simply because it was my local office. I am thinking...or praying rather this is good news. Right??? I hope so anyway.

No I don't have anything at all...no background check..nothing...I did get SA on April 4 thought.
Does anyone else have any ideas? Has anyone else's file been transferred closer to "home"?

Yes, from Montreal to Hamilton ON. They transfer your file to different offices for different stages of the process. Typically the office near your home is the last stretch like BGC, eligibility and DM, then interview.
By now I think that we are mostly all at a local office stage but then it depends how fast the officer and the workload he/she has to finalize your application.

I agree but people says in different posts that if they transfere our file to our local office without AIP means they have some concerns and could be delay of 6 months to 2 years
Thats why im so scared and everyday is so stressful

hi guys i am principal applicant i am waiting for eligibility to pass with only 50 days left. i have question from last 5 months me and my spouse living separate due to job like different province i changed my add in feb so it will have any negative impact on file. i still visit my spouse every third week.
please help me in that we both are worried about it
i called last wek agent said they are doing BGC and its still on criminality so then security then eligibility and bgc so many steps to go dont know what to say to this process it taking too long
I got transferred without AIP too, but I don’t think we should assume it’s because they have concerns. I think things got disorganized for our summer batch of applications sent to Montreal, and I don’t think they are following standard timelines (to the extent there are such things as “standard timelines” here). I think they’re just playing catch-up, so I’m not too worried (even if I’m a little impatient and jealous of others who didn’t get stuck like us).

I called CIC about an hour ago (no waiting time) and they said because of the first 3 letter/numbers of my postal code that is why they sent my app to London...which would be my local office. It was transferred to London on May 1st. Whew!
