Why can't we all do something about this? The problem is no one complains and once their own cases are approved, they just disappear, leaving the rest to the same misery. Very typical of us as a nation.
At least the 12 months plus applicants should be filing a complaint/comment over work of LVO. We can all request our files to be processed inside Canada or ask LVO to speed up. I did file a complaint a few weeks ago, but I think it's just me.
Because we think it's only on others' part to raise voice, while we enjoy benefits of it, in case it happens. We think if we do something about it then they will reject our genuine marriage cases, because we just wanted them to be processed like other nationalities. We're never united for a cause, as usual.
A hundred/two hundred emails will definitely make them think about this issue. With no complaints they would think it's normal for us.
Otherwise, keep waiting as usual. And waste one precious year of life without your loved ones, and that too the first few years that are supposed to be the best.
Good luck.

Agreed, atleast we can raise voice on twitter by tagging CIC and Minister ahmed hussen.

What is your timeline?

It's just the two of us lol. Rest are pro-wait or scared of further delays when the fact is pursuing a genuine case is our right. Or may be the system in Pakistan has made us so scared that we think rising for our right would cause us harm.
I'll tweet and email again today. But with one or two persons it won't make any difference, unless we all jump in it together.
If we can't even utilize their fair system, then we as a nation have truly failed.

How many applications will the delay? 10/20? We are in hundreds at least. And in that case we all are together, at least.
Also, visa officer has nothing to do with it. The system is transparent and they would never know.
Tagging LVO or minister on Twitter/ sending them in e-mail won't mean they would call your visa officer to say ok delay their case.
Also, in that case we shouldn't even involve MP or call on their helpline to ask about our process because the visa officer would know.
Thank you guys for encouraging. It is vital that we raise our concerns for a better system in place. It is extremely painful to wait for an indefinite period of time to reunite with our loved one, beats our rights.
I am about to write an email to LVO as a form of complain and Twitter to get aternyokn for

I am about to write an email to LVO as a form of complain and Twitter to get the right personnel’s attention. We deserve a transparent, consistent and in-discriminatory process.

No matter what you guy's do answer will be same...
You guy's are not paying attention here first of all there are some immigration agents sitting here and they're looking what ever you guys are saying and yes they'll delay your case...
I had the same situation with you. I think this is pretty much what is going on in LVO. Our files are put away when they reach LVO and they are in a queue for a year and VO pulls it out from the dust when the file reaches 1 year and starts reviewing it, the real review only takes 2 days.
When I ordered my GCMS note in mid March, it was created in end of March, I received it on 10 April. At the time, it showed nothing started at all. I also checked with our MP on 20 April, she responded on 24 April, nothing started, not eligibility, not background or security. I got devastated. However, on 26 April, I received my pre-arrival. It was just a week after my file reached 1 year.
Since you are reaching 1 year, it is not surprising that nothing has started, but you are probably already at the top of the queue. Just hang in there for a week or two.
Can you please assist, how you contacted with your MP, did you contacted based on location or you contacted MP from Sydney, NS?

You should contact your local MP who is in the same province where your sponsor is based in. I guess you can find their contact info online?
