Just want to share my experienced, I am a registered nurse and applied for the Live In Caregiver program for canada all neccesary requirements are already provided but then my problem is that will I be able to pass the medical exam. That was the big question, all sleepless nights are paid off, I got an email from my immigration consultant that told me I passed the medical exam. By the way I had my medical exam at IOM Makati. That day I was really nervous but then I have to overcome my fear, I told myself if Im not going to try it how will I know if im going to pass or not. Had my medical last Feb. 28, 2019 and got the results just yesterday Mar. 23, 2019, for those of you want to ask we pass our application via online that why my consultant saw that I have passed the medical. Thank god and thanks to my gastro doctor who handled and gave me the clearance.

Hello good day mgcph, i forgot the name of the panel physician, but it doesnt matter because for the blood they only check for hiv. So dont you worry just present your medical cert from your doctor/hepatologist.

No they should be checking for hep B and liver enzymes. Both are part of the standard panel along with HIV. You should have also declared that you were a hep b carrier to the panel physician or you are misrepresenting your health information.

Canuck78, i agree with you that it is better to declare that he is hepa b carrier im just saying that the blood test that they are more focused on is with regards to hiv. But then if somebody declared that they are hep b carrier then they will test for it ofcourse, and if you have a tattoo also its one factor that they will test for hep b too.
The most important thing is that you prove to them that you are having regular check up with your gastro doctor and that you have medical cert from your gastro doctor, just present it to them, it will help them decide if they'll going to pass your medical. God bless

No hepatitis b is on the blood panel required for the medical. It is there because it is quite common in many areas. It is not “better” to declare your hep B status it is mandatory to report any medical conditions or it is considered misrepresentation.

Should point out that you will likely have to do another medical in Canada if you want to work in healthcare or in schools to make sure you don’t have a communicable disease before working with vulnerable populations.
