Some people said due to self employed tax deadline is July 31, they will only send invitations out in early August, I guess there will only be one invitation this year instead of multiple rounds
"...
When we invite a group of potential sponsors to submit a complete application, we call this a round of invitations. Depending on the number of complete applications we receive, we may do more than 1 round of invitations.
For 2019, we’ll invite enough sponsors to receive 20,000 complete applications.
They will send emials to 20,000 applicants this year, still there are 7000 applicants left.. we can deduct few applications might be they won't apply.. will the remaining applicants profile would be transferred for next year or their this year journey ends if they dont receive the emails ?
This question has been asked many times before, but there's been no satisfactory answer. My case is of grandparents sponsorship, so do I need both sponsor and parent's birth certificates with names of respective parents. Our certificates don't have our names nor of parents. This is how BC were issued in India some time back. It's very tedious to go there and get new certificates made. Please anyone with suggestions as we are expecting our invitations soon.
That is for the extra 7000. No second draw this year. They accepted 7000 extra applications so they don’t need to do a second draw. They only have email info for the first 27000 EOIs.
You just got so excited that the processing time is so quick nowadays. It is still much faster than it used to be even if the invitations come out in August.
Even if just one person, they will have to delay it to make it fair, if one is self employed and does not meet income requirements for 2015 then they are not able to apply till they have 2018 income tax, deadline for self employed to pay tax is end of July
The process explained that they may have to accept taxes from 2015, 2016 and 2017 in certain cases. An example where this may happen is for self-employed. Processing does take a while so they might already have 2018 taxes by then and most provide permission to access CRA info directly.

You need to provide "Proof of principal applicant's relationship to sponsor". It is then said that you do this by providing Birth Certificates which usually around the world contains a person's name and that of their parents. If supporting grandparents, then you need to provide both yours and your parent's birth certificate.
If your birth certificate does not contain those two pieces of information, then you can't use Birth Certificates to prove you're related to the people you're sponsoring. You'll have to provide other evidence and then explain in a coverletter why you're not providing birth certificates.

I thought he was referring to the 7K left, not the ones that didn't get a spot on the first 27K. Personally, I doubt they will open another FIFO/lottery draw this year.. or even for next year to be honest.

Exactly. Whatever applications are left out of that extra 7000 will be transferred until next year. That's the Liberal policy so it is contingent on them winning the election. I would also expect that the Liberals will bring up how they expanded PGP on the campaign trail. This election is going to be a bit brutal. The other 2 candidates aren't really strong but Trudeau has really dug his own hole this past year.
