I called IRCC and their automated system told me my applications review of eligibility has not started yet.

Duration: 2 years plus 1 year Co-op
Work Permit Approved 3 years

My friend applied on January 17, Review Eligibility today and got approved the same day.

I see the processing times are really long at the moment (on the website they say they are processing the demands received 31st of December). I was just wondering what about flagpole ?? Is there a benefit on doing it online ??

Potentially, but wondering why there are not more people doing it. Is there an issue with that?
Also was wondering if it is better to go to United States (I am from visa-exempt country) for 1 or 2 days and then come back to Canada.

my friend got it in 2-3 days after approval in Toronto

Duration: 4-5 years
Work Permit Length: 3 years

Follow up with your MP

Members of Parliament (MP) have the ability to look into immigration cases. To locate an MP using a postal code see here https://lop.parl.ca/sites/ParlInfo/default/en_CA/SiteInformation/parlinfoMoved. It is possible to request a meeting. Bring with you the name of the principal applicant, their date of birth, their application number and a confirmation letter to show when the file was submitted.
