I am a Canadian Citizen. I married someone from Central America and we lived there until his death. He had a daughter who I am close with and is seeking to immigrate to Canada. I have a daughter from a previous marriage. Can my husband's daughter put on her express entry application that my daughter is her step-sister although my husband had not adopted her?
In the event that the answer to the above is yes, would my daughter have any legal and/or financial obligations towards my husband's daughter?
Thanking you in advance,
Can my husband's daughter put on her express entry application that my daughter is her step-sister although my husband had not adopted her?
Yes, only one common parent is required.

Thanking you in advance,
Their legal relationship ceased when your spouse died, so no, she does not lost your daughter.

They don't have a common parent.

Thank you. So if I am understanding you correctly, my husband's daughter cannot claim my daughter as her step-sister since a) there is no common parent and b) the legal relationship (if there was one) between the two daughters ceased when my husband died.
