Proof of relationship with Grandmother - PLEASE HELP!!

Hi All!

I am in a pickle! Here is the situation, I am applying visitor visa on my grandmother's behalf for her. I have to attach a proof of relationship.
She is my paternal grandmother. My father has passed away so I don't have document from my dad that could have his mother's name and that I could use along with my passport (as it has my father's name). Only thing I have is a old passport of my dad, but that expired in 2007. It does have mothers name but can I use it?
