Looks like I received the SA email and not DM. I stand corrected. I was multi-tasking and did not go through the email in detail.
Here is what I got:
This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class you submitted to this office on behalf of XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and family (if applicable).
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence (APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted shortly.
Looking at this thread it seems very few people who sent their application in August are getting DM/AIP. I think they are processing most of our files in Montreal and due to their backlog and the fact that our background checks started late we're in for a very long wait unfortunately.
And my bgc and eligibility haven't even started yet

Good news for us today as well! APR was received!!!!
Below is our timeline: I applied for PR and OWP - CPC MISSISSAUGA
App. sent: Aug. 20, 2018 App. received: Aug. 22, 2018 AOR: Sept. 21, 2018 Sent documents to Quebec government: October 9, 2018 Received confirmation from Quebec government that they would process request/payment: October 19, 2018 Medical Request: Nov. 2, 2018 Medical Exam taken on: Nov. 5, 2018 - Received confirmation that medical exam was passed. OWP: February 27th, 2019. (We only applied in November 2018 because we were badly counseled by an immigration consultant.) SA: March 19, 2019
Hopefully everyone else will follow shortly, seems a few of us are starting to have our files processed, yay! *Just corrected APR to SA - apologies for the confusion.
