I connected to an IRCC agent yesterday, on being asked about the eligibility and security, she told me that eligibility was still being reviewed and security did not start yet. Other than that, she was unable to provide any information. Everything else appeared normal according to her. No ADRs and nothing abnormal at the stage. Hoping to hit GOLD soon as are others!!

Thanks! Actually, I contacted them through the web form and got a generic response. They told me my security screening hasn’t started yet and that was 1st week of February. Just keep praying and the golden email will arrive soon!

No, I wasn’t really paying attention. All I did for the last 5.5 months was be anxious and paranoid which was not very helpful.

If the analyst is of the opinion that , inorder to confirm authenticity, an indepth check may be required on an information/declaration/detail provided by an applicant or if something doesnt add up or fall in place , then he/she marks the case as review required. Then the file takes more time to process as another analyst or a case officer has to give their verdict inorder to mark eligibility as met or recommended passed.


'In progress' is a regular term used when a particular process is ongoing.

Thank you Asiv! If I understood you correctly, eligibility in progress means eligibility is ongoing. Therefore is it possible for eligibility to be in progress for nearly 6 months(given what the call agent said)?

Your above understanding is correct. The period which eigibility can be met can range anywhere from 1 day to 6-8 months. Currently, there is a lag thats happening however there are lucky folks who are getting thru with an early timeframe so we wouldnt be able to predict a period. Hold on tight for 6 months from ur AOR n lets hope for the best.
