My application was received on Aug 17 2018 at Ottawa but my status still says app received at both places...

if you click into the "application received", does the left one say " we are processing your application on Jan xx" ??

Yes, I can see your APP was received on 16 August. Congratulation and ottawa is pretty fast. Did you provide SIN or NOA or both, or just NOA?

Sooo after my parents application was denied (due to a missing FBI clearance which they later said they don't need anymore), they reopened the application and just asked me to pay RPRF again as it was already refunded. No other additional documents needed. So how long is the wait time now for the PPR? I'm asking because my parents really want to come to Canada by May or June of this year. And their tourist visa already expired.

That's good news! They don't ask people to pay PRRF again after it was refunded unless they want to approve your application. They denied your application already and reopened your file. That to me is pointing to real positive direction. I wouldn't worry about the time. But, it won't take much longer.

congrats man, hopefully it comes for our too. Mine is in process since Jan 09 and they also asked for additional documents on Jan 08 which I provided on Jan 11. Lets see what happens.
