what is really going on with eligibility met cases transferred to ottawa ? ottawa seems to forget abt them and focus more on recommend pass files. Is there an issue with met cases or they just dont want to work on them. Please are there pple with met cases from CIO to Ottawa that have gotten PPR?

Cancellation of passport doesn't void any visa which is in the passport already. Passport is a property of the nation issuing the passport whereas visa is a permission of entering another sovereign nation. USA issues 10 year B1/B2 visa and many people enter USA on old visa and new passport daily. Also, there are many posts on this forum where people have entered for landing using new passport and one time visa on old passport.
Hey guys,
Would it be wrong to assume that applications with Eligibility MET take a considerably longer time? ...than people with recommend pass, what’s the trend here pls?
I understand the fact that the cancelled passport doesnt cancel the Visa, but one cant travel with the cancelled travel document, so in my opinion, either the visa needs to be transferred on the new PP or it can be mitigated by carrying both the passports. I am not an expert/experienced so these are my apprehensions/risks that I am calling out.
Example: I have a valid US Visa in my old Cancelled passport. And the fresh one doesn't bear any passport. In such cases both passports need to be carried.
As far asI think, in Tobs' case too, the old passport may be cancelled or expired but the visa is valid until the expiry date.
The cancelled passport doesn't cancel the visa. The passport is cancelled so you don't have two valid documents which translates to two identities. You can travel with a valid visa on an expired passport so long as you have a new & valid passport.
Talking to MP would only give as much information as that you would have right now through GCMS notes. Regarding the visit visas, you will be rejected every time you apply for them. I have been through this process. Your best bet will be to apply for open work permit for your wife as the primary applicant with your kids as dependents. I don't know how far will that application go but it is your best chance right now.
Have you checked by calling CIC that whether you are under security screening or not. If that is the case then the timeline for PPR may go beyond 6 months as posted by CIC.
@syedahraza thanks, we tried open work permit as well, that got rejected too...tried everything until now...I don't know if we under security screening, the last time I got through to an agent, she could not tell...anyway thanks for your help...I think us Pakistanis have a special timeline and special rejection policy especially for visit visas
Review Required - POF
I got latest Balance Certificate from Bank and submitted it via CSE Webform.
Is that it? What else to do? How long does it take to be updated in my application and when will officer review it and when to expect PPR?

There are no details in notes about analyst's concerns about what you had already provided. So, my guess is probably it was because of the exchange rate fluctuations. So, yes just make sure the amount is little bit above the minimum needed taking in to account the exchange rate movement. That should be okay.

I don't think MET takes a longer time than recommended passed. Granted that eligibility is Met at CIO (and Recommended passed at Ottawa or other Vos) before being transferred, but the reason for the delay is that there's no officer reviewing these applications after it was Met or recommended passed. Plus, there are people with Eligibility recommended passed at Ottawa still waiting as well.
Ottawa Sydney NDVO at least they are working. Rest of us are just waiting for any good news. We see PPRs everyday from these offices and want to see more.
