Hello everyone, if anyone knows can you please let me know if it's okay if I apply for student visa and my wife for her dependent visa if we just got married 2 months ago? I have my acceptance letter from the university in Montreal for June intake and we are going to apply for the visa next month now that we have almost all requirements. My doubt is that our marriage was too soon ago and also it was a civil marriage so I don't know how important it is to wait or if we can just go ahead.

For your information, I hired a Montreal based immigration lawyer (Canadian-Korean) from the start of the journey in 2015. He did everything for me, even including translation, which really helped me focus on my daily lives, but I had to search for further information on my own like GCMS notes, ECAS, ever-increasing visa processing time, etc. I strongly recommend to read your GCMS notes to get more knowledge of how your application is being processed. Even you can get copies of your submitted application package by requesting GCMS notes but unfortunately, I am still waiting for the 3rd one that were requested 60 days ago.
Congratulations for the DM dear hairking and I hope it will not take more longer to get your PPR

Congratulations my friend. We almost have the same timeline. In my GCMS notes, I noticed that the officer said that I appeared to be eligible for rehab since more that 5 years have past since my offenses in the US. But CIC never asked me to file a rehab.
Can we exchange by email? Please contact me on

I have many questions to ask regarding your lawyer and GCMS notes.
Thank you mgazi, you are always encouraging everyone and I highly appreciate it.

Hi all,
How long does it take for CIC to confirm if the medicals are passed? Our doctor has already submitted the results.
Thanks
Hi all,

If the results are transmitted, my experience is that the CIC On-Line Service portal is updated and will show "Result received". However, the ECAS will show "You passed the medical exam" after a while if they are ok with it.. My personal experience though.
I just checked on GCkey and it's written you passed the medical exam.
Dear all I am still in background check (started two months ago), although I need to travel, I requested a visitor visa online, It says that the processing times for this is 9 days (I just wanted to double check if those 9 days are business days or counting regular days), Thanks
