Many people on this forum are in the same situation. We are waiting for something that we have no control and nothing we can do to accelerate the process.

Do u guys know whats wrong in other application? why it take too long or did you guys update your application?

Me too in the same boat. Jan30-2017 applicant. Decision made on 12 Dec-2019 but no PPR yet. Waiting killing me.

Well, your comments are somehow not nice. You think everyone who is stuck here and is above 19 months, actually screwed their applications by messing up something or by calling them again and again? Our files have been dead or in back ground check and we don’t know the reason. Your words touch a nerve for a lot of people

Yes bro. I can understand. For atleast half of them they have put Decision Made in ECAS from Dec 2018 and Jan 2019 for those who r waiting. I hope we should get good news soon.

Hello Everyone
l was wondering if anybody can help me out. I applied for Federal PR in November 2016 thru SINP program. And got my Closed WP in April 2017. Got married in February 2018 and added my wife in April 2018. I am still waiting for my PR but my Closed WP is expiring in April 2019. My question is:
Can I apply for my wife Open WP with my application for extension of WP or do I have to wait till I get my extension and then apply for her?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

I beleive you might need to get your application approved first for work permit and file extension of WP for your wife. That might be better if your wife's permit is not expiring soon.

I am preparing to submit my permanent resident paper based application. Can I do biometrics before submitting or I need to wait for CIC to give me go ahead.

I understand but its taking too long and getting frustrated. I don't know what will be the reasons. Till today no msg or PPR etc 1.5 month passed since Decision Made and my application will be crossing on 30-jan-2019 2 yrs of strenous processing time. I hope for some of you please check ECAS https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do
status for Decision Made etc. Some of the people who r waiting got changing this month to DM. Please let me know if anybody has got PPR and how many days after DM and post here.

No, I dont think so you need biometric upfront.

I remember when i filed my pr i did not provide but later with visit visa they ask to submit.

so in your case you dont need to provide biometrics upfront.

Here is complete instruction for you so pay you fee first if sending application by mail if sending by Visa Application Centre then you can give biometric same time upfront.

Permanent residence

• If you submit a complete application and pay the biometrics fee at the same time
  • You’ll get the letter in your account message box within several daysor several weeks.
    • We’ll send you an email to let you know that you have a new message.
• If you pay the biometrics fee after you submit your application
  • It can take several weeks before you get the letter.
    • We’ll send you an email to let you know that you have a new message

If you apply at a Visa application centre (VAC)
If you submit a paper application in person (all application types)

• You need to book an appointment in advance. You can then give your biometrics at the same time as when you submit and pay for your application at the VAC. You don’t need a letter.
