Hi guys. Not entirely relevant to this thread but I had a question for people who are migrating with their spouses (as secondary applicants). Are you planning to get their ECAs done as well (if not already done). I understand that this is not mandatory for the PR process, but was worried if potential employers do need it mandatorily in Canada. Thanks.
I don't think it is mandatory incase of employment, but it will help you acknowledge the qualification's Canandian Equivalency. On the contrary I think for you to earn points on your Spouse's educational qualification it is mandatory for you to get her ECA done during EE PR Application.
I’m not sure but there were a few who mailed NDVO and had some luck and their files had nothing to do with NDVO as well. And at this point I’m emailing any email ID I can get hold off. The time to apply logic has gone.
I sent an e-mail using the below two e-mail addresses, one of them is inactive and the other one works but I'm not sure which one. Just send an e-mail to both, I received a response the next day.

Hey guys,
Just talked to angent at IRCC, she didn’t spill any new beans rather than giving a shock that background checks haven’t begun. I mean seriously im past 6 months now & no background checks yet. I’m heart broken :/

Yeah I believe so that I’m in IP2, basically the status is background check underway & reviewing my eleigibility. Rest all in not required. Is this IP2?

So you're in IP2, which means your background check has started.
It's basically composed of Criminality (about you having or not commited crimes in your life) and Security (about you being or not a treat to Canada, as in Terrorism, spionage).
Criminality at this stage should be passed (it's fast, using your PCC's).
Security tends to be fast also TO PROCESS. Nowadays they're taking a looong time to start it. Probably because of this non-started point she generalized and told you that your BGCheck is not started.

Ohk, thanks for the help. You’re a life saver. I thought this shouldn’t be the case as my sister is already settled in downtown Toronto with PR. So security should be last of their doubts
