Hey Guys, congrats to you all!! I know (kinda) it is a bit frustrating knowing your file is approved and yet not receiving your golden email, but try to think of other people, myself included, who have similar timelines as yours and are still waiting and starting to lose hope!! THIS is really frustrating!!
Chill out and go spend your holidays with your loved ones, ‘cause when you least expect, you’ll be landing in Canada!!
I could really use your advice on the below:
My passport expires in May but I got married after AOR. Should I change my surname to my Husband's name when renewing my passport or I should just use my old last name? I don't want any complications and unnecessary back and forth with AVO.
NB: not done legal change of name yet. What's the implication of my Husband and I landing with different surnames? I need to make a decision asap.
Thanks.

I am married for more than 2 years didn't change the name. Applying with different last names. A lot of people in West don't change their last names. So you are fine. If you change name on ur passport now, it will be kind of beginning from level 0 because they might do background checks again. And you will have to provide documents for name change and many others. This will unnecessarily complicate things. Don't change the name until you land. PS I moved to US after getting married still have passport with maiden name with father's name not Husband's name in the last page.
Yes - yesterday I got profile updated. I checked and saw ADR changed from NA to we are reviewing. Upon calling them today: I found out the same update was because of file approval.
Exactly same thing, got similar ghost update with change in ADR status. Called and found out application Approved. It is at CIO Sydney (since AOR ) so don't know when to expect PPR....

Thanks for the response. At US point of entry, were you ever asked why you and your husband have different surnames on your international passports or did you always have to carry your marriage certificate along with you to proof your relationship with your partner?
Welcome to our approved, transferred to CIO Sydney, NS from Ottawa and awaiting PPR train @Bandit Queen.
Right now other members are @Jaywalker@RaulFloyd and myself.
....
So July folks if you were in IP2, with security not started, VO: Ottawa and got ghost updates between December 13-19th. Call CIC you may be on our train.

I spoke to an agent today and was informed that I am still in the eligibility + criminality stage. Security yet to start.
She also said, "I know we say most applications are processed under 6 months, but that's not the case. Most go over, and so will yours. Please don't make any plans in the expectation that you will receive your COPR by the end of 6 months".Oh, and VO is Ottawa.
I don't know what to say. I'm very disappointed tbh :/
