Is there a trick you guys use to contact CIC on the phone? I’ve been trying since Friday but they never even put me in the wait queue.

Try calling early morning like 8.30 or 9 AM EST.
i mean that's what i used to do.

Had PNP approval with job offer , applied workpermit which got refusal as we applied for open permit , now consultant told that if we apply for restoration of workpermit under PNP on employer portal it might get refused, so he applied for vait

I don't understand. I have several friends who had closed work permit while processing PR, then it was about to expire and they applied for BOWP and they got it. Is there something different in your case? Were you unemployed?

What is Ghost Update: ? I saw some thing which people call ghost update, I saw 3 times in this month, but still nothing came ?

Ghost Update: In most of the cases you won't receive any emails, but If you login to your online account you will see "Application/Profile Updated", but when you will open the application there will be no change in your account, and when you go back to accounts home page you will see "Submitted" instead of "Application/Profile Updated".

Note: It doesn't mean PPR, but it means that some work is being done on your application by officer. And if all your documents are okay (as is the case with the majority of applicants), then that means it's a step towards PPR, so it's a good thing.

No but this s first time we applied for work permit under PNP and it should be LMIA exempt which to be fine through employer portal ..but they didn’t do correctly

Oh that's bad. I have a friend who had the same issue. Her employer applied for her and it he did it wrong :S Good luck.

And nothing after that ever since...My current open work permit, which is based on my wife's study permit, will expire on 2019-03-31

the only reason that made me think I might get the PPR soon is that I would like to believe I will get the PPR after 6 months from the date of MP. But I don't want to take any chance on this whole application. Plus, I might have to do another medical when applying for the BOWP this December.

I passed medical more than 7 months ago... therefore, this is not an assured reference.

Nothing after that , what is that pre arrival email , I didn’t get anything like that and also CIC said stage 2 background check is going on
