My husband still didn’t get DM since passing his test the second time on Oct 11. I think his application is now non routine as they say it so now it will take maybe 3 months for him to get DM any of you know if this is true? He also sent FP in August as they requested so I also don’t know if background check is done. This is so stressful
I am not a specialist but from what I’be read it might take time for the background check after FP submission. I know it’s easy for me to say but stay calm - you do not have control over the situation now, panicking and going over and over in your mind will only make you more anxious than you already are. You guys don’t need it. If you keep checking online for the status change- try to limit it to few times a week and limit it to once a week. The process takes time- that’s all it is. Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah I agree. We sign in to Ecas all the time just to see if it’s changed. Nothing. They’re probably timing how much we sign in . We just want to get this over with as much as everyone on this group does too. It’s stressful! I will keep everyone updated when we get DM but I don’t think any time soon. Maybe in 3 months. I think it’s becuse like you said FP and also he failed the first test and passed second time so it delays by a lot. so fingers crossed!

Standard time is a couple of weeks but if you have travel plans you can apply for urgent processing which I think takes a couple of days. Either way I would suggest going to an actual Passport Canada office to submit the application. They check the forms for you so you know it's good and it's quicker turnaround. Don't send by mail or go to Service Canada if you can avoid it.
