Hi all..

So received PPR Oct 1st, sent to VAC for stamping, medical expires on Nov 1st, no new medical been requested, received a confirmation of pick and supposed to pick up my PP and CoPR this Monday Oct 15.

Today I saw an update on my CIIC detailing my PR issue and expiry date as Oct 11 2018 and Nov 03 2018 respectively!

Now I'm freaked out as its too soon of a date and I live in the middle east terminating a resident permit before leaving the country that alone takes a while not to mention getting prepared. My husband wants me to move on time say a quick goodbye to my friends and family and not bother about shopping but I'm now stressed out . I was hoping for a month not 18 days.

Anyone been in a situation like this or heard of PR expiry date extension please let me know I really need help !!!

Hi guys,

I would like to get some information regarding passport request letter. I have received the letter today but my husband lives in Rahim Yar khan which is far from Lahore and isb. We called theVFS number but they didn’t give any Sirf of information except to email isb embassy. I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I really want my husband to fly here in Toronto. I need guidance what do next and who to contact.

well, your husband can travel to Islamabad and submit passport to VFS Islamabad for Visa. He'll get it back in a week or so. (He can track it.)
It sucks to be doing 2 trips or maybe he can stay with a friend or relative in Islamabad to wait for passport.
No need of wasting time for contacting anyone. Simply go to VFS Islamabad or Lahore and submit passport. Remember they have some charges for this service so it is not free. VFS has some charges. (Take cash).

If you really want him with you i suggest he submit passport right away. Then by end of next week he can collect his passport back with visa and then take earliest available flight to join you in Canada. That's the best and fastest way. Do it. People regularly travel inter-city these days in Pakistan and there's plenty of vans, buses etc providing daily transport. Upto you now.

you really should have started shopping etc as soon as you got the PPR ..
best is to get yourself ready as soon as possible and get here ASAP .. otherwise if your visa expires, then what was the point of going through the whole process?
i have been away from my hubby for almost 2 yrs .. my hubby won't wait another day to get here to Canada ..

If its possible, just fly to Canada and then return back to finalize everyhting else. That will allow u to land and use that visa and be done with the process. No idea about permits of middleeast but if those r not mandatory to do then just fly out and be done with it. Land and go back, that way ur husband can collect your pr card when it comes and bring it back to you, etc.
You can only take so much luggage and there are/were plenty of days to wrap things up.

Not using the visa and letting it expire would add delays to your case. Either fly out ASAP before visa expiry, or return the visa/passport to the Embassy and request for medical and new visa with longer expiry date. This will definitely add delays to your case finalization.

If I have to choose between shopping etc and not letting that hard earned visa expire, my choice would be obvious....but I'm a guy, what do I know

Any July 2018 got file transfer to Local Visa Office (LVO)?? Also since they've changed the address for out land applicant from Ontario to Nova Scotia in August 2018, the Local Visa Office for Pak is now Abu Dhabhi. Anyone please check on that?

local visa office for Pakistani spousal applicants is still LVO.

outland applications go to Sydney, NS. after they verify sponsor eligibility, the file is sent to London visa office.

as others have said, do not waste time trying to get an extension. fly to Canada, do your landing procedure, stay and enjoy with your hubby for 2-3 months until you get your PR card, then fly back to middle east if you must and complete your shopping or anything else you need to do.

Thank you all for for your comments and advices..Sure I wouldn't blow my visa after waiting 13 long months for this process just coz the expiry date is short..that's a pure stupidity..I wrote the post on the hope that someone might have been in this situation and did extend his/her visa and can share his experience that's it. This all happen very quick after 9 months of not hearing a word from LVO just to say "hey here's 18 days till your landing expires".

We have been waiting such a longgggg time for this day to come in our lives.

I won’t wait a day. But yes, saying good-bye to parents is hard even After an year or few months. Good Luck!

when they send surprises like these, then it's all of a sudden .. for me it was very quick once the interview was done .. 17th was the interview, re med request on 19th, pre arrivals on 26th, then DM on 7th Oct, PPR on Oct 10, passport submission on Oct 11 .. now just waiting for COPR .. my hubby's a may 2017 applicant .. waited a long time .. i know what you are thinkin and going through .. It means they have cancelled the remaining interviews That were supposed to be held in this trip. They will give you new date in the next quarter. It’s unfortunate but nothing you can do
