It has to be submitted either by mail or courier service. Look up Step 7 on: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5525-basic-guide-sponsor-your-spouse-partner-child.html

Same, ECAS is showing the same thing applied on September 13 2018.

Yes along with electronically printing name you also need to sign with ink on the form

Guess we will be getting ours back then. Why would it say signed electronically and still want an ink signature. Legally they Re the same thing.

When u go through the basic guide it has clearly mentioned that background A schedule declaration along with electronically signing also needs to be signed by ink
I made that mistake first and already got my file back because of that..

OMG same, I should be expecting to get mine back as well, that’s unfortunate

OMG too!!! can't remember if we hand-signed on Schedule A. I remember at some point I though a signature was not needed since the electronic signature was in place but then I remember asking my wife to sign on it just in case.
Saniyasunesara's right; I just checked the Guide and found it on Step 3 hiding in a plane sight:

Step 3: Fill out your forms
Use the checklist to prepare your forms.

• All forms listed on your checklist must be submitted with your application. The checklist tells you if there are forms you don’t need to fill out because of your situation.
• If there is a form listed on your checklist which does not apply to you, you must write “Not applicable” or “N/A” on the relevant section of the checklist.
• If you need more space to give answers for any section, use a separate blank page to finish answering.
• Reminder for Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669): In addition to validating the form and typing your name, you must also sign it by hand before you include it in your paper application package.

Right, I can’t believe I missed that after reading the checklist numerous times
