Called upto CIC twice and got the same update as my eligibility is in 'Recommended Pass' and processing at Motreal Office.

There are a few banks that offer "Newcomer" packages that allow you to get a Canadian credit card with them.

I'm a little bummed about leaving my awesome credit history behind in the US, too, though.

I promise it's just a coincidence that my boyfriend and I started dating shortly after the election...

Mostly it's just because it's much easier for me to go to Canada than for my boyfriend to come to the US.

When I came to Canada, I was given a credit card with a $500 limit... I earn about a median Canadian salary with bills to pay just like everyone else. My girlfriend (Canadian), who is younger and a student with zero income, for some reason has a MUCH higher credit limit and ended up having to pay some of my bills, because some couldn't be paid with my Debit.

Only after a full year did they consider increasing my credit limit.

Naaa i don care about that much.. i have a job here pretty good.. just bought my first car here macan.... and its just i lost my credit history.. looking at my salary etx they gave credit card of 10k at rbc
