I have a question. Does CIC send Seperate AOR for PR and OWP or just one for both?
once they send you AOR for PR app , can they still return your OWP if something is missing?

Hi,

AOR will be sent only for PR application. For OWP you have to link the UCI number and check online for updates. There are chances for the OWP app to be returned due to insufficient fees or missing docs.

i received my returned package today. it says police clearance missing( although we provided letter explanation why we can't provide police clearance upfront) and missing IMM5669 form( which is already there). i dont know why they are asking for form when its already there.

Hi guys

I have just called the CIC and they said they are still processing application received before 23rd May. My application is received on 31st May so they said email should be sent in next week if everything is alright. Also, I told them I miss out the $155 Work Permit fee and I have paid and submitted on web form. They marked down my receipt number and said they can help put a note on my OWP application forms. Although that's not a guarantee, it's a good news for me.

They only send AOR for PR App. I received my AOR June 20. They returned my OWP application July 5 because of missing fees.

Hi everyone,

My application was received on May 30th, my spouse just got off the call from CIC. They informed that as of now they are in process of sending the AOR for May 23rd.
But they did finally confirm that my application is open and gave me the application number too over phone. They told to wait and watch out for the AOR email.

Hopefully this is some good news. It took almost 6 weeks to even get the application opened.

At this point of time, we just need to have patience and hope that everything works out well.

Today my spouse received AOR mail (UCI and application file number) finally after 43 days . I was able to link my PR application in my CIC online account. I was not able to link my OWP appl, will have to try linking after few days and see if it goes through or not.

My app was received on May 30th by CPC office.

I was able to link my PR application in my CIC online account using the below options.

Application number and Family name (gave all in caps)
Passport Details
Province and city details
No.of applications - 2 (myself - primary applicant and my sponsor)

In ECAS tool, I was able to search for my application only through my file number. With UCI number , no detail was coming up.

Hope that this information might be helpful for some one.

Some missing info for family members on the 5406 I believe. I don't have addresses + emails for all of it and I left it with an N/A in some boxes, when I got it back I called in and asked and they said to provide a letter of explanation if I couldn't give that info. Sadly ended up taking a while to get back out because I had originally sent my app when I was in Canada for less than six months, I had to wait to receive a Canada background check before remailing which also meant we were really close to the three month mark of when our papers where signed meaning I had to reprint our whole application... It was fun.

I was wondering if you received AOR for the first time that your application was returned? Or you just received it in mail without getting AOR?
Does AOR mean that the application is complete and nothing is missing?

It sometimes takes a few days before you can link it. But use the details of the Principal Applicant

Hi! Did both of you (Sponsor & Principal Applicant) received email regarding AOR? Somehow with us, only my husband (Sponsor) received an email. Thanks.

Hi! Did both of you (Sponsor & Principal Applicant) received email regarding AOR? Somehow with us, only my husband (Sponsor) received an email. Thanks.

Only the sponsor gets AOR1 and it's normal not to hear anything on the principal applicant side for up to 6 months (4 if you applied for OWP).

The application number is the same for both though, so once the sponsor gets AOR you can link the application using the primary applicant's details and the app number you received in AOR.
