Unfortunately yes , you will not be allowed to leave the ceremony (that's was the feedback from the IRCC officer). if you leave you cannot enter to complete the ceremony.

Our officer after interview showed us our date of appication (it is May 2017) and told: "You applied in May so the process will be finished in 1 year before May".

You should do a webform inquiry I did one last week and I heard back from them in 48 hours. I believe with the webform inquiry they have to contact the office handling your application to provide you with the information what’s on your file,make sure you lets them know it’s way pass the processing time they set.
Are other July applicants still waiting for oath invites? I see some people who applied in November receiving oath invites.
