Can anyone tell me how much longer have to wait. eTA completed 30th May submitted additional documents 8th June.
Due to travel in two weeks time. My wife, children and mother in law approved immediately. I have a visa for the States.

Is there something in your profile/past that you believe has triggered the longer review? Typically we only see this when someone has past charges or something along those lines.

No nothing in the past other than having lived in Turkey as born there. Completed military service there which is routine. Have been stopped at airport on arrival and departure because they are looking for someone with the same name.

Do you have another citizenship that is visa-exempt? If not, as a Turkish citizen, you require a TRV, not an eTA.
He is a British citizen and holds a British passport. I just called IRCC and entered his application number beginning with V and it said there is a 58 day wait for a temporary visitor visa. But we haven’t applied for that.

No - applying again won't help. You still have to pass the background / security check. We do see instances here where this step can take a few weeks to a few months to complete. Unfortunately there's really nothing you can do about it.

Are you sure he had applied for an eTA? It seems like his application is for a TRV or is being considered as a TRV.... his application number begins with a 'V'.
The 58-day processing time you've been told does not match with the processing estimate for someone who applies from the UK (TRV, not etA).
Regardless, he won't get a decision until background checks are completed. Maybe IRCC is checking his military service records and/or if he has traveled to high-risk country
