Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

So I did my test on the 16th May, decision made was 17th May and now waiting for our ceremony date (in Vancouver). Issue is, we are planning to move out of country next month. I know it is cutting things very fine but my Mum is terminally ill and my brother just finished radiation therapy as well. Do you think it is worth reaching out to CIC to see if there is any way to expedite our ceremony date?

Most of our friends had their ceremony 6 weeks after sitting the exam. I guess I was being optimistic.

Sorry to hear about your predicament. Sounds like you may be eligible for urgent processing, however it is not guaranteed.

I would suggest using the webform to request IRCC to expedite your oath. You will need to submit proof.

Quoting IRCC's website:

To apply for urgent processing, you must be eligible to apply for citizenship and have an emergency, such as:

• needing Canadian citizenship to:
  • apply for a job
  • avoid losing your job
  • go to a Canadian school, college or university
• needing to travel because of death or serious illness in your family and you can’t get a passport in your current nationality
• receiving a successful Federal Court decision on an appeal on a previous application for citizenship

Even if these conditions apply to you, we may not be able to process your request urgently. If we do process your request urgently, we may not be able to do it in time to help your situation.

If you have already sent your application and now need urgent processing:
Fill out the Web form explaining why you need urgent processing and include:

• your full name, date of birth, email address and telephone numbers
• your UCI or application number
• any documents that will support your explanation
  • files must in PDF, JPEG, TIFF, DOC, or DOCX format
  • files must be 2 MB or smaller
  • if you include multiple files, the total size must be 3.5 MB or smaller
  • help for how to reduce file size

Hi admin please advise I'm applicant from Windsor Can GCMS helpful in my case as I applied on December 11 and got AOR on January 26 and in process 2nd March I saw forum and applicants applied after me from Windsor got test invitation

There's really nothing you can do about it but patiently wait.. As you must have read.. No one can really help you as long as you are within the 12 month timeline. Don't stress about it..it'll happen

Being December 2017 applicant from Windsor, I am also sailing in the same boat per below status but feel we can’t do much on this:
App delivered- Dec 12.
AOR- Jan 29 2018.
IP - March 5,2018
FP request- March 27.
RCMP sent results to IRCC- April 23,2018
Nothing heard since then.
