Hey October applicants! We have all crossed our 7 month mark and into our 8th month now.
Any news for anyone?
I have seen a few cases from other months getting done by 5-6 months. But nobody from october yet?
I myself is an October 2017 applicant and my file was sent to LVO on 20th April 2018. When my wife called at cic number and get the already recorded status of our application, It says we are reviewing the eligibility, medical has been passed, we do not need your interview, we do not need your finger prints and we will inform you if that changes and at the end it says that my background check is in process.
So there's like initial review, full review and final review. These reviews are to be done by a case analyst and can take as long as ever. Even the immigration officers have gone slow now.

Hello respected members,
I just want to know if someone here is from quebec or going to quebec. I have a question my wife just received quebec selection certificate CSQ on 28th of May 2018. It’s written on the papers we received that they have already informed the Canadian visa office about it, but still should we wait for the LVO to ask us to send it to them or what should we do? By the way I am PA

I think nobody really knows what these reviews actually mean. We've only been able to find these stages based on the replies they've sent us.

Thanks for the response I understand, but if they are saying that they are reviewing my eligibility and my background check is in process, what stage that might be? Any idea?

Yes I know it’s wierd most of the people here got their file transferred to LVO in 2 to 3 months and I was so worried because it took 6 and half month for my file to reach to LVO. But after knowing the status of my file I am a bit relax that atleast they are doing something with it. Probably CPC-M has already wasted too much time in my case that’s why LVO responded rather quickly. It is just my guess friend just wish you the very best hope you hear some good news soon too.
background checks are out of the control of LVO or CIC. they rely on different government organizations to run these checks such as CSIS. some background checks can take a long time, we just dont know what causes the delay
What is the longest time known for bgc in spousal sponsorship cases? Because half an year has already passed in this phase.
what normally they do with Back Ground checks? some BGC are really quick and some taking months and forever
they have rcmp, fbi, what ever country intelligence agency plus interpol to see if you have a criminal record or ties to organize crime to terrorisn

my bgc is not in progress either
added. it can take about 3-4 months for file to be sent to LVO.
by the way, i was born and raised in Saudi Arabia too!
Oh wow! That’s a lot of time. And I believe till then there’s no work on the application whatsoever..
really? And have you sponsored your spouse or you’re / were the applicant

It took 6 and half month in my case so you never know exactly how long it is going to take.
Just out of curiosity, generally, what do they ask in interview?
