Thanks. I know that’s what they say in the instructions, that it’s valid for no longer than the expiry of the medical. But I wanted to get a sense of the actual expiry dates ppl have seen on their visas since they can make it expire faster.

My husband ‘s visa was valid for 4 months. He landed in May but the visa was until August. Hope this helps.

I have seen people getting it for 7-8 months...at the minimum you can expect 2-3 months.

PR visa is valid until the expiry of medicals only. It’s always the case.

For those who recently got their passport stamped with the visa (and are still checking this forum lol), how long was your visa valid for? I’ve heard in most cases it’s valid for 2-3 weeks only. Thoughts?

This depends on what notes the initial case officer in Mississauga has put in your file. The case office in NDVO will pick it up and proceed. Generally here they will check your medicals....request remedical if medicals have expired, ask for interview if required...but the longest part here is the security and criminal checks that are done by 3rd party agency which takes the longest.

are these notes are the ones, where you check status and messages in GC key account, (Profile Details)

Sched A and PCC req: 15 Sept 2017
SA: 18 Sept 2017
FBI clearance req: 5 Oct 2017
(This took us 4 months to get from fbi and submit)
We never got a Aor 2 except that random email from NDVO saying “we will contact you in may or june” (I believe most of you got the same email)
