Can I land in Canada after getting pr approval and go back to home country without pr card? Will be allowed to renenter canada without a pr card?

In order to board the plane on your way back to Canada you'd need a PRTD. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=064&top=10

You can always get the PR cards to an address in Canada then forward them to your own home country
That way they are with you when you want to re-enter Canada

what if i still have valid entry visa on passport? can i use that to board the plane? what should i explain to border officer when i enter canada without pr card?(only COPR)

Your immigration visa is only used once for landing .. You can't re-enter Canada with your COPR only. . Need the actual PR card or else apply for permenant resident travel document

thank you so much! Actually I meant my previous multiple entry visa i applied when i was holding work permit, but i guess it doesn't work anyway

Aha... Not sure about that I guess not since ur status would have been changed to permenant resident (no longer a temporary resident on work permit)

I cross border pretty much every week, without a PR card. I live in the US, and come to Canada, via Land. I do not even show my COPR paper nor they ask for it. I became PR in April 2017. Just thought to convey this, practical experience.

Apparently, in their system, they know, you are PR. Do not try this at border, it is just my experience.

Hi

....I don't have anyone in Canada, so no permanent address there. In this case what address can I give. In case I give a hotel address then I will have to wait there for 2 months till I get my PR card

You can open a UPS mailbox and have them forward your PR card when it arrives..that way you will have a valid address in Canada which u will need anyway once u land to get ur PR card sent there

I checked with UPS today...they said that they do not have such service. Has anyone availed such service from them.

Have you used this service or know anyone that has? I am considering it as my circumstances have changed and I don't plan to live in Canada straight away, but want this as an option for mailing my PR Card to.
