Hi guys,
I was issued a pfl and it says to respond by sending in documents to the visa office within 30 days. A window to upload the documents on GCkey also appeared. There was a delay in compiling the documents so I am not sure that the mail will reach the office in time. I will upload the documents online on time though. Would it be a problem if the hard copy gets there a bit late or the online upload will suffice?
@humy.11.23 its been 10.5 months now. I don't understand why LVO are delaying our file. Me and husband age difference is 5 years. For both of us its 1st marriage. Wherease our marriage is love marriage but my husband's family attend all the functions and not my parents. May be that is the red flag. Other than that everything looks fine.
Agreed, mine is also first marriage and age gap is only 1 year for me. Mine was also love marriage but would be considered nikah only case i suppose. We don't plan on doing the whole barat, walima thing we just wanted to do one combined nice function after he arrives to Canada as I didn't want to do one in Pakistan since all my friends and family are here and it's really complicating to do barat here then fly all the way there for walima including all family etc...LVO should understand that. I had dolki functions, nikah ceremony and reception in Pakistan though. All relatives attended minus my mom and some of my siblings because it was decided on suddenly. So I suppose that's a red flag for me but I explained everything to them in the application when submitting. I only hope they complete it within 12 months and I really pray and hope they don't ask me for additional things otherwise I am being pretty patient perhaps because I visited my spouse jan to march so that helped cope with a lot.

why IRCC/LVO consider a Love Marriage as Red Flags? At least it's a legal Registered marriage. Here in Canada, every day girls and boyz breakups and even they live wihtout marrying to each and give birth to their babies and then father (not a husband but a boy friend) of their baby or babies either run away or stop supporting his own kids. At least all our marriages Alhamdulillah are legal registered doesn;t matter love marriage or age Gap or 2nd marriage etc.

as long as i recall, you indicated here your husband traveled few countries like Malaysia and Thailand etc. and you have indicated in your application so they may be looking for a clearance from these 2 countries and that may be delaying your process? Allah knows better.

It's very stupid as if Pakistan is some stone aged country where only arranged marriages happen, love marriages are so so common now. Ya they shouldn't start flagging it just because it's nikah only or love or second marriage. Makes no sense. My husband has travelled to Dubai couple times but that was only for a few weeks or so. Perhaps because he has applied for a Canadian visa that may be the reason as well which was rejected obviously lol. Btw when he applied for the visa we were not married, my sister had a better income at the time so she provided a letter of intended support and stated him as a "family friend"...dono if they'll start raising concerns over that.

Yes, it's for sure a 'matter of concern' for them. I know someone who had a similar situation where the PA had tried for Canadian visa before the marriage. They were questioned over it and interviewed...but again every case is different.

You will be fine. Rejection is very extreme case. I'm myself so looking forward to the interview...lol...after all I have a red flag called '2nd marriage' 2nd marriage people should actually be processed faster because they are already dealing with a 'heartbreak' and all other kind of stress and what not.

I don't know im always afraid of them randomly asking for things I do not have or questioning why the letter was written as "family friend" because I was with him during that time etc...
