Received AOR from CPC Mississauga. Application sent on April 11.
I was wondering if my application is being processed in Missisauga, instead of Ottawa?
One question regarding the Certified true copies, the photocopy from who sponsor and co-sign, example the Citizenship, Passports, etc need to be authorized to certify copies ?
Hi
I have been selected for this year's PGP sponsorship. However, I don't think I really meet the LICO criteria. Should I still go ahead and apply? Anybody else in this same situation?
Yes, the sponsor and co-sponsor (if applicable) can provide copy of passport. If the sponsor doesn't have a Canadian passport, a copy of citizenship certificate could be submitted. Please ensure you copy both sides of citizenship certificate.
For paper application , does the additional family information form have to have original signatures ? Can it be a scanned copy. I have looked through the guide and only the Schedule A background declaration was mentioned specifically to have original signatures.
The form with the original signature that I have has my mom's parents name interchanged. That is her dad info is listed under mother and vice versa. Both of them are deceased.
I am thinking of asking her to correct the form, sign and scan it back to me so I can send in the application. The urgency is that my brother who is a dependent on her application turn 22 in a few days time. Please help
I agree, that's why it's important that IRCC should ask for an intangible/ verifiable information of the sponsor during lotter intake e.g. they should provide option for uploading the notice of assessments along with the online lottery form to confirm eligibility. Also they should ask for Canadian passport number or UCI to ensure that only Canadians could apply.

Yes, Original signatures are required! They will not accept photocopies of any forms.
Get your mom to send the original documents via the fastest courier, while you are waiting, double check the forms you have in hand to ensure that there are no other mistakes. Keep the other documents ready and as soon as you get documents from your mom, add them into the ready-to-go package and send it to Ottawa address via the fastest courier. Good Luck!
Certified true copies
To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must (as described below) compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:
“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.
Who can certify copies? Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:
It's great to see people receiving AORs within a month of receipt of application package by IRCC, in-fact in most cases within 15 days, which is quite impressive. Comparing it to last year, looking at the spreadsheet for 2017, on an average people received AOR's after about 40 days or so.
Let's hope IRCC keeps the pace, Good Luck Everyone!
I have received the invitation to apply for my parents sponsorship. My question is: when to submit the Police check and Medicals? on the CIC page says that it should be in the package, so should I submit the medical check and police checks before my deadline or submit those documents after, when they asks for them? since all those documents will be expired when they open the application in 3 years that it is the current wait time.
Wendy you dont need to submit the police clearance and medical right now.In the package they didnt ask for medical or PCC.After you submit your docs they will check and if everything is ok then they will let you know when to submit medical and PC
- You don't have to mention about your upcoming oath ceremony for citizenship, it won't benefit or effect the application. Just provide copy of your Permanent Residency Card with the application package.
