What's the next step after passing medicals (background check has been processing since December)?
- Sponsor approval? (we got no Ecas number for my sponsor)
- Passport request? (even inland?)
- Email stating that they're going to start working on eligibility? "Decision made" on Ecas?
Good question as were in the same boat almost (wife had medical a week ago). From what I read here it can be pretty random, sponsor approval and AIP should be the next step but people report that when they get those a DM follows soon after, or you might not hear anything for a few months then go straight to DM and a landing interview, or even a landing interview is arranged before anything is updated on mycic/ecas. I think no news is actually good news, if they start sending out extra requests for info etc then that will slow down the app.
Cic sent me correspondence on February 5, 2018. I did “No Criminal Convictions certificate” up front in 2017 when I submit my application and I called CIC last week, the agent said they received my correspondence Feb 14,2018 and background check in process. Is anybody has the similar timeline as mine?

My wife got an email from IRCC that it would take up to 6 weeks for the work permit to arrive in the mail. According to the spreadsheet (found in my signature), most have gotten it within a week. A few got theirs more than 2 weeks. We're currently waiting for my wife to get hers in the mail, hopefully this week.
