Assuming you're working on an employer specific work permit you must work for a year with your employer.

Yes it's post-doc LMIA exempted WP, so not now but after 1 yr I can gain points with renewed contract in hand as well? right?

I applied for PNP paper based and online work permit (lmia exempt).

I submitted my application online for work permit since last 30 Nov 2017 but have not heard anything..

   • a federal-provincial agreement or

There are two types of work permits: Open work permit and employer specific.
How could you get both at the same time?
What I understand from the cic (above) is : you are exempt from LMIA if you

- Have been working full time 1 year on a employer specific work permit AND have a valid job offer ( written offer for 1 year after your PR)
OR
- Have a valid work permit > canadian interests > EIC > Open work permit. AND have a valid job offer

If you do still confirm me that you have to get LMIA exempt (which you are if Open work permit) AND employer specific work permit, please explain me why.

You cannot have a valid job offer while holding an open work permit, period. You are free to try to claim those points and see the results.

If you're holding an open work permit and you wish to claim the points for arranged employment then your employer must obtain LMIA for you.

I'm assuming you'll have an employer specific work permit (closed work permit)? If so, you must first work for your employer for a year before even thinking of claiming those points.

I already check the CIC link you provided, but they don't mention any details about the one year work experience or to have one more year after the PR issuance. My work is under NOC 4011 code and is specific for a university.

I'll put it this way then. You do not have a valid job offer at this point in time.

No. You do not qualify for those points unless you have LMIA. Even though your work permit is LMIA exempt it is NOT employer specific.

Your employer would have to obtain an LMIA. There are 2 types - they are essentially the same, but one is for a new work permit (TWP) (pay the fee) and one is to support PR applications only (no fee). Since you have a 3 year PGWP and (I'm guessing) have plenty of time left, you can probably do the no fee version. But the requirements are the same.

No, you don't have to work on a closed work permit for a year. You need to have worked for a year for the same employer who is named on the LMIA / future job offer.

No. If you got the LMIA and then applied for a new, closed work permit, it would replace your PGWP.

or I still need to work with them for 1 year?
Yes

Not sure why the "or"? Your one year would include those 3 months in that example...
