Hi.
I want to be sure, cause this is not what I understand from the cic web site. Please help me to understand, cause they say:
For Express Entry, your employer doesn’t need an LMIA if you:
- have been working full-time for the employer on your work permit for at least one year (or an equal amount of part-time work)
- have a valid job offer, and
- have a valid work permit that is exempt from an LMIA under
- an international agreement
- a federal-provincial agreement or
- the “Canadian interests” category
There are two types of work permits: Open work permit and employer specific.
How could you get both at the same time?
What I understand from the cic (above) is : you are exempt from LMIA if you
- Have been working full time 1 year on a employer specific work permit AND have a valid job offer ( written offer for 1 year after your PR)
OR
- Have a valid work permit > canadian interests > EIC > Open work permit. AND have a valid job offer
If you do still confirm me that you have to get LMIA exempt (which you are if Open work permit) AND employer specific work permit, please explain me why.
