As far as I know, no you shouldn't. You have 99% chances of being declined and it can hurt your case. What stage is your file at? Normally it takes 12 months and even longer if it's 2nd marriage, age gap etc.
applying for TRV while your spousal case is being worked on does not hurt your spousal app.
but it is true that most likely they will decline the visa if you are not able to prove strong ties to your home country such as a lot of funds in your bank and a stable job back home etc.
Umm my application was received 2nd June 2017 .. it’s been almost 10 months .. its first marriage and age gap is normal with my husband being three years elder to me .. they haven’t asked for any additional documents and my gckey account says they are reviewing my eligibility .. background hasn’t started yet and I don’t need interview .. it’s been quite long so me and my husband were thinking about visits visa option

For all those who's file was transferred in September. You guys are probably in the same timeline as me, considering the email I am expecting nothing to happen for at least probably another 2 months. Lol few months before people started panicking after like 7 months or so, I feel like these days it's slower.

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office
Update for all of you:
I received an email from London visa office with a letter saying
'on the balance of probabilities, I have concerns that your sponsor does not reside in Canada. Furthermore, I am not satisfied that you are intending to come to Canada to establish permenant residence'
They have given me 30 days to respond. Can anyone please advise on what I should be providing. I have been living in Canada since May last year with a 7 week visit in between to visit my husband. How should I address the intend to stay in Canada issue?
