We were asked to do remed in April 2017 before the interview. The medical is also going to expire in 2 weeks.
According to CBSA and CSIS, BGC is still underway. Like seriously, how much checking do they need to do?!
You need to write to minister , you completed 12 months and your case coming in the back log of 2016.
It will help.
The problem is back for 2016 applicants the background check was started after their eligibility. This is the reason it was a double time for one application.
Now they begin some of the requirements of BGC along with eligibility review. Thats how when eligibility is done they are left with few small BGC activities to finish. New cases are speed up this way to cope with 12 months time period.

Hello,

I have a question. Does anyone know how long does it normally take for LVO to respond back?
My husbands sponsor application has been in LVO sincr january 30th,2018. And we still have not heard anything. Also his medical hasn't been done. When I called cic and asked if he should send his medical they told me he will recieve a letter and then can submit it. It's extremely frustrating as I am currently in Pakistan visiting him and was hopeful that we could go back together. But this process is taking longer then expected. I have a friend whose husbands application was processed withing 7 months! And I am still waiting on LVO.

Totally depressed and frustrated.

Sweety please take it easy. It is hard. Mine was transferred September and I haven't heard back yet from them. It's a long process and not everyone's case is the same doesn't mean there's anything wrong with yours. There are people who are waiting for 2 years here as well and some since March and April, not saying yours will take that long Inshallah it won't. I also went to Pakistan (jan to march) with hopes I could return back with him in March however, it did not happen. We shouldn't get depressed over this, just pray to Allah and believe it is for the better. Please try to be patient. After transfer to LVO it usually takes around 5 to 8 months for them to actually tell you anything and complete the process. Though yes medicals should have been requested. If I were you I would try ordering notes as well email the London visa office they will tell you where it's at. I emailed them so I have a better idea calling isn't the same, I know mine will likely still take a couple of months but at least it's moving.

normally Medical request comes before file move to LVO. My wife's medical request came while her file was still with CPC-M. As soon as her medical was done and stated as "Passed" we got a letter, that her file has been moved to LVO not sure how your hubby file moved to LVO without having his medical. May be process has changed now? You should write an email to LVO asking the same and contact your local MP to inquire about it as well.
For me it is 8.5 months no word from LVO since Sept 18th, 2017. 6.5 months apprx.
Yours only moved in Jan 2018. Its Mar now. Wait for another few months and relax. I am right now in Pakistan with my wife since almost 4 weeks.:D:p:rolleyes::rolleyes:

pre arrival means your eligibility is done, now just wait for your final background check. it will take a week i think. because now a days they finish security and criminality along with eligibility.
background they will only check some of your IDs etc or small things
got pre-arrival letter on 7th march. till then no update :( .

The Minister said that since it's BGC, they can't do anything. Trudeau said he can't do anything since it falls under the Minister's program and he has more important issues to worry about :(

Like someone else said, I would check in about the medicals. However, it's perfectly normal to not hear from your VO for months. My wife's application was at the Warsaw VO, but we didn't hear from them from August 2017 to March 2018, so ~6 months. It's really hard, I know, but as long as you're sure they have all that they need, there is no reason to worry.

If I were you, I'd confirm with them that they don't need your medical. I know you said you called CIC, but there have been cases of them sending requests and people not getting them, so it's good to double check with the VO itself. You can do this by emailing them, or contacting you local MP to see if they can check on your behalf. If they say that they don't need it, then just sit back, relax, and try to focus on something else. If you have a genuine relationship and a relatively "normal" situation, everything should be done 9-12 months from when you applied. It's easy to get sucked into comparing yourself to others, but every case and VO is different. The average is 9-12 months, so you're likely to fall within that range.

Good luck!
