On January 2nd 2018 I submitted the interest form to sponsor parents I mentioned both my parents name. I received my invitation to sponsor on march 20th. Due to recent change in family size (me,wife, both kids + parents = 6 ) my LICO is not enough to sponsor both my parents. Instead of not using the invitation for both can i sponsor any one (Either my father or mother). It's one time opportunity to receive invitation.I want to utilise this opportunity to sponsor atleast one of my parents.
No. Everyone must be included in family size for LICO, and all must pass medical exams, even if just 1 parent is accompanying. The other parent is included in app but listed as non-accompanying if they don't want to come to Canada.

Does anyone know if we need to have done the 2017 tax returns before the application?
Considering you need to either show your tax assessment form or they contact CRA directly, i feel this needs to be completed so they can see your latest net income
anyone know/ have an opinion?
Hi All, got the invite and am going to sponsor my parents, I meet all the income requirements
1) They do not have a marriage certificate, they have two affidavits (one in India and one in Oman) made though in the past (1998 and 2004). Should they make another affidavit in 2018. If yes, can anyone share a format/language please.
2) Is there any benefit from using a lawyer or an immigration consultant to file the paperwork, are any of you using one?
3) Do I have to fill in two applications (one for my father and one for my mother) or will one application cover both of them?
4) I have only one other sibling who is 45 years old and is not dependent on my parents, do I need to provide her details as well?
5) My individual income is enough to support the application, is there any benefit to adding my wife as a co-sponsor, e.g. I lose my job and my income dips?
Thanks in advance for the help and guidance and good luck to everyone!
based on this threat, what's the ratio for now of invited but not qualified...I hope ppl who's invited is able to apply, but i also hope there's second round mid-year

We can see enough idiots on this thread alone. They have been following this thread, knew they're not eligible but still entered the lottery and won it.
Imagine how many applicants shall be outside this forum with the similar situation. IMO, there will be second round coming in July/Aug.
It doesn't matter. If your parents are still married, you have to include them both. Or you can put one as non-accompanying but BOTH have to pass medical, security check and both have to be counted into your family size.
