It is actually really quite easy. All they have to do on their end is to create the job offer in the Employer portail on the CIC website, pay the 230$ fee and then give you the number. You then have to apply to get your work permit changed using that number. Last week when I checked the delay was 32 days.
I'm currently at work so I don't really have time to go into details, but let me give you some links here:

Feel free to contact me if you need help with anything. I went through this process a number of times. The key is to get the Offer of Employment number and make sure you apply before your current permit expires.
Thanks mriekje.... I have some more doubts could you please provide your contact details .... Thanks in advance

Hi Mriekje..

Do we need special offer letter or any offer letter will be good for new workpermit.

Some small company they are not ready to give offer letter in detail, they mention that this candidate is working full time in our company since XXXXX date...

Will it be sufficient to get new workpermit in boarder. Appreciated for your guidance.

Unfortunately, even at the border you will need this official Offer of Employment through the employer portail.
Sending you my email/gmail chat in a PM

Hi mriekje, thanks a lot for your help. I asked a similar question before. But here i just want to confirm again that this process, Employer create job offer thing does not account as employee sponsor, right? And normally how long does it take to get the job number for the employer in your case?

No, the job offer is not Employee Sponsor. It's just for the work permit.
Getting the number was really fast for me. It's an online process and they get the number directly after the payment goes through. First time I needed one was just after they changed the process and I didn't know. I was late with my application and got HR to take care of it on the evening of Dec 30 (my permit was valid until the 31st....). That only works when you're friends with the head of HR obviously, but just to give you an idea of how simple and fast it is. ;)

If you can, ask them to save a PDF of the page where they verify all the data entered. You have to make sure you enter everything the same way. Especially make sure you get an end date to your job offer (even if they want to keep you for longer). Otherwise you may end up getting your permit refused, because the job offer "doesn't appear to be genuine". This happened to me because I got an offer for undetermined time, but I had to enter a date on the application form. So I put one 2 years in the future (max time for the permit is 2 years), and I got back the answer saying information entered by the employer and by the applicant wasn't the same and they didn't believe the offer was real. HR called and they got it fixed, but I was out of status for a week. Not fun. Avoid that ;)

Hello

I have applied for my federal after csq in september 2016 with medicals upfront and also paid the RPRF fee, till now no DM, when I contacted the cic they say that some additional verifications are going on and I have to wait, they dont know how long it will take. I am so worried is it normal. It has been more than 18 months I am waiting.

Guys one high priority question from you:

How much time it takes for you to get CSQ?
20 working days (or 1 calendar month) if the application you send is complete and correct

Hey buddy, when I got my Passport Request email, they asked me to send 2 photos along with my passport and a completed Annex A (which they sent as well). So my guess is that they will ask you to send the 2 photos when they request your passport. And anyway, when they return your passport with the Visa and the COPR, the COPR will already have your photo stapled on it. So I really doubt that you will be required to bring 2 photos with you during landing.

In any case, if the process is different for you, they will surely let you know exactly what you need to bring with you, so don't worry!

Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi @AliChraim,
Thanks so much for your explanation, it very clear for me now. actually I already have the confirmation in hand now and plaining to make the landing tomorrow ensha Allah, and the confirmation just mentioned the same as you said, nothing about the Photos, just the passports. I think I'm ready to make the landing tomorrow by ensha Allah.
Again thanks for your kind response.

yes I am regular QSW and after 16 months after requesting GCMS notes I got informed that the visa office is Rome.
This is unaccetable that 16 months nothing has start on my file, the visa office has not process the file.
What to do please is there any way to make them process my file, how long must I wait it will take months even if they start processing now
thanks,
Dorina - My AOR received date is March 13th 2017 and timeline pretty much similar to yours. I received my medical request a couple of weeks back , and am waiting for the medical status to get updated. I am assuming you are not far away from DM and PPR , though I am in a personal opinion that you may get an MR again as it has passed a 12 month timeline.
