Just an update to December applicants waiting on their OWPs. Today my eligibility for work permit changed to being reviewed and then in two hours my work permit was approved. Timeline:
Application for PR and OWP received by CIC - December 12th, 2017.
AOR - January 29th, 2018.
Keep your chins up everyone, it's around the corner!

I just graduated last year so I need to apply a working permit within 90 days after graduation which is next Tuesday so I’m worried what I write on the working permit form will have conflict with my common law application.
I’m very closed to be final step so I really don’t want to mess it up...
I have my Student permit expiring on the 18th of April 2018 and have applied for Inland Common - law Sponsorship w/OWP with my girlfriend in January. They have received my application via post (Tracking etc) but haven't begun processing etc. Do I have to apply for a visitors visa or do I have implied status after the 18th?

Just want to know! Was your case like your application returned due to insufficient funds from CPC Mississauga and sent again to Vegreville for processing or you cleared at your first shot? Some early December applicants have not got their OWP's yet !

Hi, you can only have implied status if you submitted an OWP application with your sponsorship application. Did you also apply for OWP with your sponsorship? If so, you will be in implied status once your study permit expires, and once you get your OWP you can work.
If you didn't apply for OWP, then you will be out of status once your study permit expires up until you receive the AIP (~11 months since they day they received your app). In this case you should consider applying for restoration of status, or extending your study permit (if you're still studying), or if you're graduated, you can apply for a post-grad work permit (PGWP).

I know, I didn't really see any December applicants getting work permits approved, so I wasn't expecting it that soon. To answer your question I sent PR and OWP together to Mississauga in December. None of them were returned.

I'd like to know the timeline / in order of the process as some people are getting "this" first before "that" which should have been "after".
Here's what I understand so far: (please correct me if I'm wrong) Thanks.
1) PR + OWP + inland sponsorship
2) AOR1 - receive in about 2 months
3) Sch. A + PCC - request usually about 2-3 months
4) OWP - receive in ~4 months
5) Medical Exam - request in about 6-7 months
6) SA - about 10-11 months
7) AIP - about 10-11 months
8) DM - about 11-12 months
9) landing interview - usually on 11th or 12th month
10) PR card - receive around 12th month
Hey guys! I've not posted on this forum in about a year but I'm finally approaching the end of this process (I hope!) and I thought I'd submit my timeline so far.
App received: January 31, 2017.
Medical: June 2017
OWP application sent (for status reasons) Dec 21 2017
Schedule A + UK/RCMP clearances request: Dec 27 2017.
FBI report request: Feb 28 2018
AIP: Feb 28 2018
ECAS now states my app started processing Feb 28 2018 too so I'm not sure what that means.
