Wonder why MPs are saying 1.5 years when CIC website clearly states 12 months of processing time. People, please push back with the MP. Don't settle for their generically rehearsed answers. They EXIST to serve you!

July 2016 applicant here
BG in progress since 25th May 2017.
The normal 6 month BG passed as it has been 8 months..
I m confused what to do

why your MP is saying 1.5 yrs means 18 months. this is only for application before Dec 7th, 2016
It clearly stated on CIC Website
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/

Because they have nothing else to say , iam jan 6th applicant, as per their timeline my case should be finalized by now but nooo , they picked up my file in October and have put me in interview queue now , i will also get remedical request now because my medical is expiring on Feb 9th 2018, so the last medical i did ( not upfront but on cic request) is waste now and i will pay again for remedical, and i am still waiting for interview date ... my Mp have no answer and have told me average time is 1.5 years

When i receive PPR on mycic account there is a option upload passport i need to know if i have to upload my passport on mycic account cause i haven't uploaded there.

Please help me out i am very worry about it

I wish this was true. According to my local MP's assistant/ jerk, he inquired on my behalf ONCE in december and told me to check back end of January. Upon my email, he responded that "it is ur responsibility to check on ur file. And doing inquiries delays our process". I feel like swearing at him! He is the one who told me to check back and now he's being a jerk. These people are useless! Im in pak otherwise i would go in personally to give him a piece of my mind!

Same here , i am in Pakistan too , my mom called them, she is undergoing a surgery on March 26th 2018, she said that its been more than a year and we are worried because the LVO is very slow, he/ she replied that your daughter is citizen she can come anytime and she should be thankful that they are proceeding her file because 2016 applicant are still waiting and minimum time is one year to two years , she will be done by end of 2018 !!!

you are correct. last year i noticed and read that they only did it once in a quarter or after 2 months. so i hope they do it sooner. i believe its done only when their team comes to the islamabad office or something like that. not a 100% sure.

but in travel history form there is a question, about if Sponsor travel history? should we not fill that portion related to Sponsor travel history?

in the form "IMM5562 Supplementary Information Your Travels" it asks PA to fill it out, it does not say anything about sponsor filling it. they ask for the PA spouse travel info also, but nothing specifically for sponsor. i believe even if you were to put the sponsor(spouse) info it would not be an issue. just to be safe one can put the info.

I'm in no way taking any MP's side, however, once you're in the interview queue, normal processing time do not apply. Also, each case/application is very different. So, we can't compare apple to apple here.

Every time my MP had made an inquiry with the IRCC, it was noted down in my GCM notes. A direct excerpt from my last notes: "Received a case specific information. Spoke to MP's office. File status provided and confirmed no new update. Background checks are still in process."

I requested an update from CBSA and CSIS and they confirmed that it's still in process and the priority for it is "Normal"
