Oh thank you so much.
However if i tell the border officials the truth that im traveling there to get married or for our wedding, would they let me in or refuse?
I actually came to Canada last May with the intent of getting married and applying for PR but I just told them I was here to visit. Anyway, when you've already entered Canada you can extend your stay via visitor extension program. The border officers are more comfortable knowing you have strong ties to your own country and wouldn't overstay.

I would do that but i dont wanna lie to them cause its a huge risk and this is my case :
My fiancee (Canadian) and I (Vietnamese) are getting married this April in Vietnam and will be flying to Canada together in May (via my TRV). And because my husband to be will carry all my application documents and our wedding photos as well so i want to tell the border officials the truth that I'm gonna do another wedding in Canada and will go back to Vietnam if my application gets rejected (i have a return ticket in Sep), would they let me in the country or would they refuse and send me back to Vietnam right away ?
Anyone successfully got accepted to enter Canada if you are telling the border officials that the purpose of your visit is to get married in Canada ?

Hi everyone,

I feel so bad for letting my lawyer send my application in December because I have no idea if CIC had received my application yet. I wanted to call my lawyer and ask for the tracking number, but my mother advised me not to do that as it would seem like I don't trust my lawyer.

All i know is that the mail was sent out between the 8-15 of December. How long should I wait to hear back from CIC saying that they've received my application? Please advise, I've been checking my email everyday like a lunatic .:p

We're about the same timeline. They received mine December 09, 2017. Still waiting for the AOR.

The latest I've heard was from someone who has gotten her application received last December 05 and got her AOR on January 19. Hopefully ours will come soon too!

Yes! Hopefully :)

I have a question,

Do you need to have a certain amount of income to sponsor? as in like, do they check your previous tax years, etc.. or it doesn't matter as long as you have a full-time job now.

Not necessarily as long as the sponsor has a stable job and is not dependent on any financial assistance from the government. Just have to show the requirement from the CRA: the latest tax assessment or the proof of income (option C).

Do they email our spouses? (applicants) or us the sponsors?
I read that they first email the principal applicants then the sponsors. I just don't know if they always send emails to sponsors though. But I guess any sort of correspondence between the IRCC and either the PA or sponsor is a good start.

Hey there, I had contacted my lawyer, since our date ranges are so close, she told me to expect to hear back from then by the end of this month or feb 10th! Thought this would help you. :)
