I have been a silent reader for the past 5 months since my application has been in sync with many others but I just received a message asking for a RCMP criminal record check which I have not come across on this forum yet, has anyone else had to fill in one of these from outside of Canada?

I have a question?ECAS shows the address of my sponsor, whether I need to change or is enough to notify my visa office.I am a PA in outlend
now it turns out that we are at the same address. The responder had to change the address because of moving from the apartment to the apartment

I'm currently away from Canada, and plan to stay about 6 months here with hubby...it won affect our papers in any way right...cz I was stil living in canada and will return after a few months..cz i applied for outland sponsorship, cz otherwise i will only stay 2 months

Is your husband Canadian?

If he is a PR, to be able to sponsor you he has to be resident in Canada. Being away for 6 months might be seen as too long of an absence to be considered resident.

A little more information about your situation might help to give better advice.

What will your status in Canada be if you say that you are returning to "live" in Canada?

Sounds more like she is the sponsor. As a sponsor you're not really able to leave Canada for more than a couple of weeks from what I understand. I believe it's different if someone is a citizen or just PR, I'm not 100% sure

That actually makes more sense, haha.

If you (@hopephul100) are the sponsor and you are Canadian then I don't think there will be any problems. If you are the sponsor and a PR then what I said earlier applies to you and you probably shouldn't leave Canada for much longer than anything considered to be a short visit.

Hello all,
Today I was lucky enough to receive my passport request!

This might be a silly question, but I just wanted to make sure of something - don't want to do anything silly at this stage!

The letter I received said I could use this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/visit/visas.asp to find out if I need a visa in my passport, and if I DO need a visa, then I should send my passport away. However, the tool isn't very clear (or it might just be me not thinking clearly from all the excitement!).

I'm from GBR, so I know I need an ETA. Does this count? So I would assume that I DO need to send my passport away?

Also, do I send it to the London office, even though my application is in Mississuaga?
