So we have to make income for another three year we cannot count the last three years.
Is his parents will be counted in family size once they arrive in canada or once we applied.
Yes you would have to make income for 3 years, so it's probably at least 4 years until you'll qualify, assuming you can start meeting higher income starting next year.
His parents are counted in family size immediately since the app is already submitted. If for some reason their app was rejected, only then could you remove them from family size.
Hello
I'm new to this thread. I'm looking to sponsor my parents in 2018 and know that I would require 2015, 2016 and 2017 income for this.
My question is,
I need my wife as a cosigner to meet income but I got married to her in 2017. Being my wife now can she include her income for 2015 and 2016 towards parents sponsorship? We were not related to each other in 2015 and 2016.
Hello,
I would like to sponsor my mother in 2018 PGP. My family size is two and our joined income is:
2014: $47,000.00
2015: $40,000.00
2016: $$40,000.00
I would like to verify that I qualify.
Should I request Option C print for both of us for 2014, 2015 and 2016 for the online form in Jan 2018?

IRCC has completely screwed up the lottery last year by not asking for quailifications of the sponsors and as a result ten of thousands of non qualifying people was selected to apply out of their quota of 10,000. They did not appologize but instead did a second draw in September with the same mistake. If they continue with the same systems as last year, the chance of any legitimate applicant being invited is close to zero. We should demand public apology by Minister Hussen as this problem is undermining confidence of Canadians in the efficiency and competence of the government.

You should realize that the vast majority of voting Canadians couldn't care less about the parents sponsorship program since they have no need for it, and many view it as nothing more than a burden on healthcare. Hence you will never see an apology, and parents program will always be last place in terms of priority or resources allocated compared to all other immigration programs.

Thank you Rob for taking your time and kindly made it clear to me. I admit that I could not understand the technicality.
I would like to ask you another question. My mother came in Canada in Oct 2017 for a six month visit visa (multiple entry until March 2021). I really wish she could stay longer than six months. I would like to apply for an extension sometime in Jan 2018. Will the extension application be denied? Thanks a lot.
I am so glad I found this discussion here. My husband and I came to Canada on Express Entry from the US and we submitted the application last year when the lottery was launched. We were thrilled to received an invitation email to apply, however, we were short of income for 2014 for just a few thousands due to the fact that we only worked 4 month in that year (after landing), we do have more than sufficient income from employment in US for the other half of the year. My husband were selected in the second round and again have the same issue for his parents, we decided to submit the application anyway in December with explanation letter on the extreme hardship if we could not bring our parents here, we will be having a baby and it is very hard to find childcare facilities near to our home so with our parents coming we will have a huge relief. We have not received any communication from IRCC though. Anyone has any experience on appealing for cases like this? I read somewhere that IRCC can grant discretionary approval for humanitarian or extreme hardship situation, any lawyer experienced in this would be greatly appreciated

When did they announced the change to lottery last year? I think early or mid Dec..
Since, they haven't said anything til now, lottery would most like stay the same...
I for one, believe the "screw up" they did on the lottery procedure was 100% intentional, in order to lower the backlog, offer 10k as promised but fill it up with non-qualifying applicants. 2nd round was just for show, if they really wanted fill reminder of 10k, they could have fixed the problem and ask us to re-apply for lottery.
So, sadly I don't see them improving the lottery any time soon....
as mentioned by other members, PGP is not on top of their "to do" list. We aren't in good position to complaint...
