It is not advisable to ask for status updates from LVO frequently. You dont want to annoy your visa officer.
Since you are a July applicant , its too soon for you now. Keep following this thread and the spreadsheet and you can send a status update after 6-7 months of application submission.
We submitted ours on the 10th. Some people who submitted it around the same time have already gotten it back. Guess it's just individual luck.
It's the embassy's busy season for visa-stamping, and if you look at the spreadsheet, 20+ days of wait is normal. The last few returns were quick (average 12 days) but the pattern fluctuates all the time. They do say that it can take up to 4 weeks, so although it's annoying, it's nothing to worry about yet.
I had looked at last year's cases around this same time.... This is not a busy month... Everyone had gotten their COPR within a week. I am guessing the dharna situation and ongoing interviews caused delays. But now that both are done, we will see COPR's every day now. I just got the sms today so you should be soon now as well

It is a busy month. I remember the same happened in May this year which was exactly like November (lots of pprs after 3 dry months). I submitted my pp same day of ppr and got it after 18 days even though i submitted in isb. Whenever LVO approves lots of cases in a batch, the chc-isb becomes slow.

You can travel to Pakistan anytime you want and you don't need to inform LVO about it but when you come back to Canada, then it's up to you if you want to inform LVO that you have visited your spouse and can send all kind of proof to LVO like copies of your Passport showing entry / exit stamps, boarding passes, PICS taken with your spouse during your current visit, receipts of shopping if you or your spouse did for you or whatever you can provide to LVO about your current visit to your spouse.
In my opinion, you should get only the NICOP at this stage. However, for NICOP , you will need her Canadian Passport which is normally processed within 20 days of applying.
You do have an option to get CNIC and Pakistani Passport as well but if the travelling involves to Canada only then these documents are not required.
Today, My wife received a call from TCS visa application office that we have received a parcel from Canadian High commission Karachi, please bring Rs.1,690/= along with your CNIC copy to receive the parcel. She received a parcel and it contain the original documents from London visa office that we submitted with the application and a letter stating that:
Please be advised that as standard procedure an officer has assessed your original documents and copies of the relevant documents were kept on your file.
We are therefore now returning the enclosed documents to you.
Is this the standard process?
Anybody else has experienced the same?
