Yesterday, we've done our PR landing at 9:30 AM in immigration office near Bonaventure metro. It only took around 10 mins. They just asked for CSQ, confirmation of PR (which is the paper included in the shipment when they return the passport) and another photo. She did not asked any other documents. They just ask if you have criminal record. Explain the PR obligations and benefits then said congratulations.. After that, we processed our SIN in service canada and ramq. Then submit new SIN to our bank and hr dept in our work.
Its a long process but definitely worth it. Now I am excited to apply for citizenship after 2 more years. See you all there in citizenship forum after 2 years!
Yes, we did not expected it to be that fast. Mostly in this forum they said it will take like several weeks. We do not have a car yet and its a long queue as well in the border. This is the most convenient route if you dont have a car and dont want to wait. I almost forgot they also ask for RPRF receipt and of course the passport. They just double checked if the name and DOB is correct with the confirmation letter.
Currently Ottawa is taking 13+ months. The officially announced processing time for Quebec Skilled workers is 14 months from the date of application. So you should be able to estimate based on when you submitted, and then add 13-14 months to it (also varies a lot due to such factors as whether you are a regular or PEQ QSW applicant, nationality, anything specific about your background etc.). You can refer to this spreadsheet for very specific timelines from people from this forum and do add yours as well https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11kdzo2tA_6HiILyuHtDsYtVajswDvHYTUiEFlFM1b28/edit#gid=736440819
I have had that message about background check on my account since February, and I am currently almost 13 months from the date of application. So it doesn't really mean anything
