Was there any change in background check. Did it started before medicals or after?

Today I received an email from CIC to do the medical again because close to expiry of the previous medical. Previous medical will expire in the end of January 2018.

Important information – OHIP+: Children and Youth Pharmacare

Ontario Government launching OHIP+: Children and Youth Pharmacare

Starting January 1, 2018 all Ontario residents age 24 and under who have OHIP coverage will be automatically covered by OHIP+: Children and Youth Pharmacare.

All that will be required at the pharmacy is a valid prescription from their doctor and their valid health card or health card number. There will be no out of pocket costs, such as deductibles or co-payments.

This program will stop for Ontario residents on their 25th birthday.

Can anyone please tell me how long does it take after receiving Pre-Arrival letter and actual passport request?
Has anyone received passport requests after receiving Pre-arrival letters?

Today I received an email from CIC to do the medical again because close to expiry of the previous medical. Previous medical will expire in the end of January 2018.

Looks like they are working on your file ija1971! So it sounds positive. Can you share which office is processing your file? Thanks!

mine is with Ottawa, i just got the that letter this morning without any other requests, so I was wondering if that meant the decision has been made. I cant look at the status, i only use the CIC online tool to view, and it said it's still in progress.

the pre-arrival letter did not come with a passport request, nothing but that letter, so I was confused.

My file was updated and I sent all documents they requested last year but I don't understand what they mean by the following statement in my CIC:

1. We sent XXXXXXX correspondence on February 2, 2017. If XXXXXX has not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please have XXXXXX do so as soon as possible. Please wait until XXXXXX receives the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

My CIC shows that "Medical results have been received." but no update on police certificate (I sent that one as well). Do you have any idea?
