did CIC send the similar request in the early stage of your PR application? I received the similar request in the first 6 months of my application.

No I updated them few weeks before that my spouse is not here so I’ll need different letter for passport request

Me BG in progress since mid October. I called them last week and the lady told me everything passed just waiting for DM. I think you have the same case as well. I just don't understand why we are left behind if there's nothing wrong?! And I kinda noticed that almost all of those who left behind are mid May applicants......I'm thinking to call them again but I'm also worried that keep calling them will slow down my DM and make things worse I don't know what to do or who to trust now.......I don't know why I am always the one with bad luck.....really wanna cry right now....

Do you think they will have a "call record" on our files? I just called them last week but I need to call them again...I hope they don't hang up on me...

I think so as on page 17/32 on my gcms noted it says cleint enquiry with date and time and it also says Montreal call centre
Telephone but they’ll not hang up on you

I got that response whenever I called cic for the last 2.5 months too. Just got DM yesterday. Probably nothing wrong with your file, just the backlog..

Same here. Although my profile says BG check N/a. When i called someone at CIC said that BG ccheck has been strted. I think they dont update MY CIC timely. Thts what i m chosing to believe. Rest god knows

Just called CIC, a guy told me my criminal check passed, but security check not even started. (exactly same status when I called in July)
June 24 single applicant, medical passed in September, background check is still N/A

why its to hard to get DM this year. i did check some of the time line for the fast years most of them got DM 14 To 15 months. now the average 17 to 20

Is it because there are too many applications this April and May 2016

I have happened to notice that second half of june is not eevn strted yet that is after 15 june. No BG CHCk in progress. Nothing yet!! The june applicamts who are seeing movement is frst half

what is the difference between criminal and security check?

I am also curious do they start background check before MR or after medical results received only?

I am May 24 applicant , I contact local MP today and find out my application is under final security check may hear something after new year.
She explained BG check and security check take up to 6 months at least depends how many countries and provinces you have been.

I am interested
- when exactly they are starting BG and security check?? 1-2 months after AOR? or our files just laying more than half a year in a queque before some work started on it??
- my spouse is principal applicant - he didn't travel a lot, but I do - hope it will not prolong this time of BG and security check too much...
