embassy drops emails to banks and get financial details,
check status of your employment with various companies,
in simple words they verify you in detail...

lastly they ask for PPR

Hope you are aware embassy can't get your financial details from bank, as per Indian baking law they are not allowed to disclose financial information.Employment status can be checked by calling employer but that is nothing wrong untill they find something fishy.
